On Netflix Now: ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is 1988 comedy about a toon-hating detective who is a cartoon rabbit’s only hope to prove his innocence when he is accused of murder.

If you’re any kind of movie fan, no doubt you’ve already seen this groundbreaking mix of live-action and cell animation from Robert Zemeckis. However, that should not stop you from watching it again, as this is one of those rare films that offers almost endless rewards for those who explore it more than once. If you are new to this movie, it’s about a world where people live among cartoons and one such toon, a troublesome rabbit named Roger (voiced by Charles Fleischer) has got himself in a jam. He’s joined by Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins) to help prove he’s not the killer some say he is. Featuring some amazing visual effects and a very funny story, we get to watch all the old classic characters from Warner Bros. and Disney appear together on screen. There’s nothing like Donald Duck and Daffy Duck sharing the same stage. It’s comedy gold. Watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit tonight.

THE LAST WORD

While the visual effects are the real draw, the performances and a great story make this really worth it. High energy and tons of laughs.

While it is full of cartoons, if you’re watching with young kids, maybe you might want to think about the violence and a scary villain in the end.
