The Turtles are Back! 2016 is looking to be a big year for fans of the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as not only a film sequel is coming soon, but now a new video game is on the horizon. Time for some turtle on the half shell beat-em-up adventures!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been nothing short of being a successful franchise with its many game releases since 1989. It’s been TV series and comics, remade and rebooted over the years into various movies. Its newest gaming title, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan just released its announcement trailer. While there is a lot of uncertainty and no set release date as of yet, the first look boasts above all an impressive art style. The story will be original and by comic book writer Tom Waltz.
The story seems to be about the emergence of the Foot Clan and the Turtles fight to protect the city. The first shots show some very promising and creative bosses such as the shark. On the other hand, the fighting mechanics are still something that needs to be seen as to how it will work out hopefully with future reveals. However, it does hint at having a darker atmosphere but keeps the TMNT humor. The announcement trailer of Mutants in Manhattan shows a lot of potential. The hope is that it will deliver on striking the perfect balance between establishing a game both beautiful to look at, adventurous to play and competent bosses and fights.
