‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’ Drop New Trailer

Ant-man and The Wasp is a 2018 superhero film that sees Ant-Man with an urgent new mission that finds the him fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.

Like most people, I’m still trying to recover from the insane ending of Avengers: Infinity War, and speculate on the future of our heroes. Although Ant-Man and The Wasp doesn’t appear to offer much in regards to answers, it looks like it will be another fun and entertaining trip into the Marvel Universe. With any luck they might even slip in a tidbit about the current fate of the Avengers.

Following the Civil War, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) has escaped prison and is back to being a superhero. Unfortunately, he isn’t very good at it. This prompts his daughter to tell him that he needs a partner to watch his back. Enter Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), aka The Wasp. She’s got some serious moves and even better gadgets on her suit, and together her and Lang will have to team up against their newest foe, Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen). After Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) opened up a quantum realm, he released, as Luis (Michael Pena) puts it, “this crazy creepy Ghost who can walk through walls and stuff, and now she wants to take over the world or whatever.” The trailer ends with an introduction to Dr. Pym’s partner from a former project called Goliath, Dr. Bill Foster (Laurence Fishburne). If the movie follows the trailers lead, it looks like we’re in for plenty of action, humor, and giant salt shakers.

After the emotional toll that Infinity War put us through, Ant-Man and The Wasp should be a nice, light-hearted change of pace. Most of the cast from the original is returning, including Lang’s band of thieves who now appear to run their own business. The first Ant-Man did a great job at not taking itself too seriously, and gave the audience exactly what it desired. In the sequel, it looks like we’re in for much of the same, but with some great hand-to-hand combat compliments of Evangeline Lilly. If you enjoyed the original, the sequel should be right up your alley. And again, fingers crossed that they shed some light on what the next Avengers has in store!
