Avengers: Endgame is a 2019 superhero film that is ultimately the conclusion to the Infinity Saga.

Wow. That’s the best word to describe this cinematic experience known as Avengers: Endgame. As a culmination of all the installments set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it really pays off, big time. Directed by the Russo brothers, these two filmmakers are definitely the right people to helm an ambitious project with a huge cast and a decade of set-up. This is one of those movies that is highly recommended for you to not watch any of the trailers, because you will certainly be more invested in the narrative. And if you don’t know much about the premise itself, that’s even better. Without spoiling anything, after the devastating ending of Avengers: Infinity War, the Avengers are teaming up once again to stop the evil Thanos (Josh Brolin) and avenge their allies, who have perished during those events. There are a lot of surprises in this film, so get ready for one of the most entertaining and emotional installments of the MCU.

Once again, the whole cast delivers. Like Infinity War, they all share an equal amount of screen time and have some memorable moments that truly showcase these well-defined, outstanding characters. There are a lot of impactful scenes of these heroes trying to cope with their grief, and it’s quite intriguing. Infinity War feels like a standalone Thanos origin story, but this time around, Endgame is truly an Avengers movie. The script, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, takes its time to give this ensemble lots of development in order for the audience to connect with the team on a personal and emotional level. For a movie to have this many characters, it could have been a bloated mess. Instead, the screenwriters are able to make the film feel well-balanced in a cohesive way. Seeing these people evolve since the first Avengers is just fascinating, and you have to praise the amount of dedication and passion these actors and filmmakers have shown throughout the MCU films.

Avengers: Endgame is 3 hours long, yet it’s engaging from start to finish. Nothing feels left out. Every scene adds something relevant and important to both the premise and the characters. The first and second act are there to give some character development to the Avengers, but then the last act really delivers. There are many moments throughout that will bring some fun fan service to moviegoers, and that’s something Marvel Studios has always done very well.

As the finale of a saga in the MCU called the “Infinity Saga”, it’s immensely satisfying on so many levels. If you’re a big Marvel fan and have watched all the installments set in this universe, you’re going to have an amazing time with the movie. It’s probably recommended for you to have a little background knowledge of these films in order to feel the emotional weight that got started with the first Iron Man. Nonetheless, Avengers: Endgame is a fantastic conclusion in a franchise filled with great characters and unforgettable moments.
