Deadpool 2 is a 2018 superhero comedy action film that follows the further adventures of the mutated Deadpool as he faces his newest, more powerful enemy.
The ‘Merc with a Mouth’ is a officially back as we finally have a trailer that sheds some light on what will be going on in Deadpool 2. For months we’ve been able to enjoy the humorous teasers that have been released, but today we actually got a glimpse at what to expect from the plot. Let’s take a look at what we’re working with.
To start things off we get to see that Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) is once again riding with Dopinder (Karan Soni), and also still together with Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). Enter Cable (Josh Brolin). He’s mean, he’s armed to the teeth, and he packs a serious punch. He’s also hunting down a child that Deadpool has decided to protect upon Vanessa urging him to do so. In order to stop Cable, Deadpool recruits some of the X-Men, including returning characters Colossus (Stefan Kapicic) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), in his self-proclaimed X-Force.
Of course, the trailer is also packed with violence, lot’s of action, and chock full of one-liners. Sequels are always a concern, especially when the director from the successful original departs due to creative differences. Luckily for us, in a movie that relies so heavily on witty and hysterically inappropriate writing, both writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick from the original are returning. We are also joined by John Wick co-director, David Leitch, at the helm, so it’s safe to say that the action won’t be a problem. There was talk of re-shoots occurring recently, which always sets off alarm bells when you think of other movies that underwent extensive re-shoots, including Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Justice League. Having said that, it seems that plenty of movies go through this after initial screenings, so it may not be a big deal. Either way, the new trailer is an enjoyable watch, and it’s great to see so much of the original cast and crew back.
