Here’s Our Mobile Game Picks We Played in September

September has wrapped up and we look back at the games that we’ve been playing. These four games caught our attention this past month.

Dere Evil Exe – AppSir inc

Dere Evil Exe is an unforgiving and hard platformer. It twists the traditional platformers in a fourth wall breaking way by having an AI computer system become a character that helps and teaches its characters but at the same time, the story also has a rather sinister feeling character as well. The controls for this one are a little loose to say the least making some of the moves rather challenging to get right. Luckily, its auto-restart after each death makes it easier to give the level as many times as it takes to pass. For those looking for a challenging platformer, this will fit your bill and it even has a decent storyline.

Whale Tail Frenzy – Ustwo Games

Before the great Monument Valley mobile games, Ustwo Games released some cute games which looks and plays much differently from it big successes. One of these is Whale Tail Frenzy where you play as a whale that flies among the clouds. You control the rise and fall similar to Flappy Bird. It has different rainbow colored bubbles to collect and different monsters that release other bubbles with that comes achievements. Whale Tail Frenzy is simple and colorful. It has a certain rough mechanics to it but for the casual player or a younger audience, it could be a nice draw.

Interlocked – Armor Gears

Remember those complex block puzzles that locked together and you had to move the pieces around to unlock the whole structure? Interlocked is exactly that concept. While the concept itself works, somehow the electronic online version definitely lacks the interaction. You can still turn the piece around and observe the construction to see where to moves. However, it feels more clunky with the controls of zooming in and the swiveling and ends up costing moves to get the perfect score. That hinders the experience as a whole. There are some games still better played in a physical version than electronic. This might be one of those cases.

Dual Match 3 – Iyoda

Dual Match 3 is a puzzle game that takes the Match 3 concept but adds a round by round goal with limited moves to accomplish the score needed in order to keep progressing. The game ends when the moves are depleted at the further round possible. There are some powerups to use at the expense of in game currency. Dual Match 3 is a colorful experience. There is a challenge to it from the start to think carefully about the moves and how to set up the pieces to create more combos and get higher links of the same color each time. Its has a great logic foundation to it and actually can be one to try out before any match 3 to get used to anticipating moves in advance.
