June Guide to In-Theater Movies
MONTHLY MOVIE GUIDE IS A MONTHLY SERIES TO KEEP YOU THE MOVIEGOER UPDATEd ABOUT UPCOMING IN-THEATERS BIG STUDIO FILMs IN RELEASE.
Hereditary
JUNE 8
This is already getting rave reviews as the scariest movie of the year, and is led by another stellar horror performance from Toni Collette. Hereditary is about a woman who starts to have a meltdown following the death of her mother as dark family secrets come to light. For all horror buffs out there, Hereditary is looking like a must-see.
Ocean’s 8
JUNE 13
Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett take the reins of the Ocean’s franchise leading an all-star, all-female cast this time around. The crew looks to take down Anne Hathaway at the Met Gala and steal a necklace worth over $100 million. It looks to be keeping up with the wit and fun of the rest of the franchise, and should be a good time for all.
Incredibles 2
June 15
It’s been 14 years since we’ve last seen the Parr family of Supers, and they’re back with Elastigirl out to save the world while Mr. Incredible stays home with their quickly evolving son, Jack Jack. Almost the entire cast returns along with Brad Bird in the director’s chair, so it should be able to capture the magic of the original.
Tag
June 15
A great cast consisting of Jake Johnson, Ed Helms, Jeremy Renner and Jon Hamm star in the ridiculous true story about a lifelong group of friends partaking in an annual game of tag. This looks to be a warm hearted yet raunchy comedy that should be an extremely fun watch.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
JUNE 22
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are back, this time to save the dinosaurs of Jurassic World from an impending volcano explosion on the island. Expect plenty of intensity and action to mask the lack of originality here. This one isn’t going to blow your mind, but should be a wild ride nonetheless.
Sicario: Day of the Soldado
June 29
Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin return to take down the drug cartels that have now been branded terrorists by the United States Government. Although not having Denis Villeneuve at the helm this time might hurt, writer Taylor Sheridan is back and they look to be doubling up on the action from the original. Expectations should be high for this surprising sequel.
