Greta

March 8

This creepy horror/mystery film stars Chloe Grace Moretz as a young girl who befriends a lonely widow (Isabelle Huppert) that has a dark agenda towards in mind. This has been described as a mix of A Simple Favor, Gone Girl and Misery, so it feels safe to say it should be a twisted watch that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Captain Marvel

March 8

Brie Larson makes her debut into the Marvel Universe, leading a cast that also includes Samuel L. Jackson and Jude Law. Larson stars as Carol Danvers, who becomes one of the world’s most powerful superheroes in the midst of a galactic war. This is the last major Marvel release prior to Avengers: End Game, so it’s safe to say it should rack up serious numbers.

Triple Frontier

March 13

Netflix brought out the big guns here as they put together a cast that includes Ben Affleck, Pedro Pascal, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam and Garrett Hedlund starring as five former Special Forces operatives reuniting to plan a heist in South America. Although Netflix has struggled with successful movie releases, it’s hard to believe a movie with such a strong cast could flop.

Captive State

March 15

Don’t sleep on this sci-fi thriller that focuses on both perspectives of an extra-terrestrial occupation set in Chicago. Every few years a low key sci-fi flick comes out that wows audiences (think District 9 or Cloverfield Lane), so fingers crossed that’s what’s in store for us here. Captive State stars John Goodman, Vera Farmiga and Machine Gun Kelly.

The Highwaymen

March 15

Another big release from Netflix is coming in March, this time starring Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner as a team of former police officers that come out of retirement to track down Bonnie and Clyde. Here’s to hoping that Harrelson can replicate the success he found the last time he partnered up with a big time actor to play cops.

Us

March 22

Writer/director Jordan Peele is back following the smash success of his 2017 hit, Get Out, that brought him an Academy Award. Us stars Winston Duke and Lupita Nyong’o as a family that is haunted and hunted by their creepy doppelgangers. Is Peele the next big thing, or a one hit wonder? We will all find out soon enough.

Dumbo

March 29

The Disney classic about a baby elephant that can fly is the newest live action remake to hit the big screen. Tim Burton is at the helm and leads a huge cast that includes the likes of Colin Farrell, Eva Green, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Alan Arkin. Although Disney has occasionally stumbled with its live action flicks, don’t expect that to be the case here.
