Red Sparrow

In Theaters Now

Jennifer Lawrence looks to be at her best as a Russian spy in this espionage thriller. It’s already been release to mixed reviews, but should be a big hit anyway. The plot can be head scratching at times, yet it’s very intense (in a good way), well-acted, and comes full circle. Might be a little slow at times for some, but that’s the nature of these types of movies. READ REVIEW

Tomb Raider

March 16

I’m a big fan of Alicia Vikander and Walton Goggins, but the trailers really aren’t inspiring much faith. Another big issue is the fact that video games never transfer well to the big screen, so we probably have a flop on our hands. Let’s give it a shot and see.

Pacific Rim: Uprising

March 23

Didn’t have any interest in the first one, but I watched it anyway, finding it was pretty much Transformers meets Godzilla, you get what you pay for. Uprising has a good cast and maybe more of the same but for fans this might be just what they ordered.

Ready Player One

March 29

Not entirely sure what is going on in these trailers, but a buddy of mine who is reading the book loves it. I trust Steven Spielberg, I just hope the entire movie doesn’t make me feel like I’m watching the interludes of a video game. I think this should be solid, so I’ve got my fingers crossed and will be hitting the theater for it.
