Top 10 Triple A Games From E3 2019

So with E3 drawing to a close for another year it’s time for us to countdown our top Triple A titles from this year’s conference. As with previous years the only games up for consideration on this list are new titles and not remasters and re-releases which there were certainly plenty of this year with both Final Fantasy 7 and Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening receiving remasters. So without further ado here are the triple A titles we are the most excited to play in the coming months

10. Wolfenstein: Youngblood

Alongside Cyberpilot the future is certainly looking rosey for Bethesda’s Nazi killing franchise takes a leap forward two decades as you take control of Jess or Soph Blazkowicz as they search for their father and series mainstay B.J. who has gone missing. Teaming up with the French resistance in occupied Paris players can either play either co-op or with an AI partner as like their daddy they set out to kill a whole bunch of Nazi’s

9. Ghostwire Tokyo

Tango Gameworks, the developers of The Evil Within games once more caught our attention with another attention grabbing cinematic trailer alongside the enthusiastic presentation from Ikumi Nakamura who might have got as much attention for her enthusiastic introduction as the game itself. Set in Tokyo where you fight paranormal enemies to rid the city of a supernatural evil which is causing people to disappear suddenly across the city. The game will focus on the player meeting spirits who have their own stories and deciding between who is trying to help or hinder their quest what is.

8. Watch Dogs: Legion

Watch Dogs comes to London in this latest installment of the series as Dedsec takes on the  totalitarian government has turned the city into a high security state complete with drones, check points and militarised police. Adding a team element as you can recruit up to 20 team members with the option to switch between them as you utilise each of their individual skill sets. While we might have only seen the alpha build, there is already a lot of promise to the game with the prospect of being able to recruit any NPC to your cause is certainly exciting new direction, while the game plays perfectly into the current climate of the UK.

7. Marvel Avengers

After failing to appear last year and despite rumours of it’s cancellation this surprise reveal sees Marvel Games collaborating with Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal to create an epic action adventure game with a cinematic story which will enable you to take control of The Avengers. Crystal Dynamics will be giving the world it its own spin with a completely new story which from the trailer appears that it will contain shadows of the “Civil War” storyline will see the Avengers outlawed and being forced to reunite five years later when the Earth finds itself in need of their abilities once more. Packed with outstanding voice talent as Nolan North and Troy Baker reunite once again to voice Tony Stark and Bruce Banner respectively. However If online multiplayer is something you enjoy, Marvel Avengers will offer one up to 4 players while also promising to have constant additional updates at no extra cost as it would seem they plan to expand the game into its own video game universe needless to say making us exciting to see how the game develops over the coming months.

6. Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Much like The Sims who announced their own island life DLC at the EA Showcase, Animal Crossing has a huge following and despite delays pushing its release back to 2020, this Switch exclusive will offer players a chance to build their own island community as they gather resources and maintain them all in the cutest way possible, as much like the other titles in the series, watching the trailer was not unlike being clubbed with a sack of puppies. How the visiting friends towns will work in this game has not been revealed though the trailer did hint to large group gathering being a possibility and certainly a first for the series.

5. Borderlands 3

The franchise got a big push over the E3 weekend with the addition of the Handsome Collection to game pass as well as the Commander Lilith Battle for Sanctuary DLC which will bridge the gap between the previous games and this latest entry in the popular first person shooter series whose latest four leads look set to be just as memorable as the vault hunters which came before them.

4. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Set after the events of Revenge of the Sith with the game following Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis as he attempts to escape from the Imperial Inquisitor known as Second Sister. We certainly saw some exciting footage at both the Microsoft and EA conferences not only of Cal climbing an AT-AT in motion but many of the fighting and force mechanics within the game which demonstrate a lot more freedom and flow than we have seen previously. Certainly it has been awhile since we have had a Star Wars game to be genuinely excited for and this looks like it could be the title to buck the trend of middling titles we have had recently.

3. Doom Eternal

Building on the success of the 2016 reboot the focus of this latest installment will see you battling through Heaven and Hell while the franchise appears to have learned some new tricks with both swing and climb mechanics on show, as well as some exciting new finishing moves and the addition of a shoulder cannon the latest round of demon slaying looks set to be just as chaotic and fun as the last while a new battlemode only looks to add to the fun further.

2. CyberPunk 2077

The surprise reveal of Keanu Reeves involvement in the game may have sent the hype mill into overdrive. However with promises of an open world,  branching storylines as well as the options to to customize your characters through in-game choices and body modification. Lets just hope it can live up to the hype when it finally releases next year.

1. Luigi’s Mansion 3

Something of an underappreciated series for Nintendo this latest installment for Switch however looks like it could really capture the attention of the gaming community as Luigi embarks on another round of ghostbusting with the addition of Goo-igi making it perfect for the instant multiplayer aspect of the Switch while the multiplayer challenge of Scarescraper and a gorgeous visual style makes this certainly of our most anticipated titles for the Switch if not the whole conference.
