Our Top 5 Mobile Games We Played in October

Welcome to the October Mobile Game Round-up. This month in mobile games brought some popular franchises to release games for those on the go. While some may show up in future months, some titles to highlight includes Ghostbusters World, Assassin’s Creed Rebellion and Reigns newest version Game of Thrones. With that said, let’s check out this past month’s mobile game finds.

Magic Hat – AppDeko

Magic Hat is a physics puzzle game in the veins of Cut The Rope. In this one, you need to bounce a ball in whatever angle and strength to use the levels structure to make it land into the hat. There are three gems to collect to get full stars. As a familiar formula, everything here works as it should. It can be a nice little thing for those looking for these kinds of physics puzzle challenge. It just doesn’t feel like there is a differentiating factor although these puzzles usually are, they are still challenging to complete.

Strike: Free Kick Football – Play Logik

Strike is a simple game model where you angle a ball on a soccer field and need to score into the goal. There will be other players moving about to defend the goal as more and more goals are achieved. The game runs for as long as your shot gets in. If you get blocked or miss the goal then the score goes back to zero. Strike may be basic from its simple game design to the simple game controls but everything works well and satisfies the desire to win. Every new setup is about figuring out the angle and timing it accurately. It is one of those games that remind us that game appearance might not be as eye-catching but it still has its play value.

Bombarika – Cheetah Games

Bombarika is essentially a puzzle game that drops a bomb in an area where the items inside are interactive and it shifts it around to hopefully get it out of the room before it explodes. This is as much a puzzle game as it is about thinking quickly. The best part is that there are usually alternate routes that can be taken which gives it a lot more depth. We all know how furniture works: pull out a drawer or open a stove, but this games uses those everyday actions and puts it into a puzzle format which works out in a fun and at times frantic way as on certain levels, this one adds in a time constraint.

Prince of Persia: Escape – Ketchapp

Before Prince of Persia got all pretty and polished for Playstation, there was the original pixelated Prince of Persia. Taking on that same game layout, without the pixels and the manual platform is this runner where you take the Prince of Persia through the many trap-filled levels and try to go further and further in the palace. Many games are taking this route just like Super Mario Run did and it works. Chalk it up to nostalgia of seeing the same sound effects from the deaths or the ch-ching sounds from the traps, or the familiar white clad prince. There is a good learning curve here and some interesting paths to play around with to find what works best and also adds in some gems to collect and can be used as in game currency. Game currency can unlock some new outfits for the prince. It’s a bit trial and error along with quick reflexes for this one but all the same, it’s quite addictive.

This wraps up this months mobile game roundup. A lot of puzzles and physics on the go to say the least. What have you been playing on the go?
