How long had you been looking at bringing Last Radio Call to the big screen?

Probably around 2016. I had a short film called The Cop Cam go viral and had been wanting to make a feature film around it.

When did you first put pen to paper on it?

This film came together around the beginning of 2021. We had access to the very creepy Yorktown Memorial Hospital and decided to make a film there.

And how much would you say films like Blair Witch were an influence?

The film is actually more influenced by the film Noroi: The Curse. I loved the documentary style and the main character going to locations to investigate. It was so simple but effective.

Is there anything you had to compromise on because of budgetary issues?

The biggest thing was renting the hospital. We only had enough to rent it for a night, so we had to shoot almost 25 minutes of the movie in a single night. It was insane.

Did I read that this is based on an actual story?

It’s based off a mega-viral short film I had made called The Cop Cam a few years back.

Being an independent production, Id think you probably ended up wearing more hats on it than credited. Was that the case?

Definitely the case. On this film, I wrote, directed, produced, edited and did the sound design.

If an awards ceremony were going to show a moment from the film, what moment would you ask them to play?

I think the moment when they find a woman tied up to the altar. To me, the scene has just the right amount of mystery and terror.

Considering the year, weve just had, most of us are appreciate film and other forms of entertainment more than ever.  How have you been distracting yourself from outside worries during the past year?

I’ve mostly been busy writing and shooting new projects. I wrote and directed 3 features films in 2021.

I forgot to ask, did you have to shoot this during the pandemic?

When we shot Last Radio Call, the vaccine had just come out, so we were all pretty safe. Of course a few months later things picked up again.

Did theater closures, and other kafuffles, cause a dint in your distribution plans at all?

Not really. The main plan was for digital distribution, so we had no major hiccups.

Whats next?

I just released a new horror film call Deadware and I’m currently finishing up another film called A Town Full of Ghosts.
