‘Orient City: Ronin & the Princess’ (2016) Sneak Peek

A new entirely hand-drawn animated film, Orient City: Ronin & the Princess from acclaimed graphic novelists Ryan Colucci and Zsombor Huszka is near release. Watch the announcement trailer and read on for more.

Orient City: Ronin & The Princess tells the story of Orient City a vertical twist of of rock and skyscrapers all bound together with waterways and impossibly high cable cars. In a directed hierarchy, those in squalor huddle at the bottom while the middle houses a man named Boshi, a fallen samurai who has sworn to protect a young girl whose family has been assassinated. They journey to Orient City to find those responsible and avenge their murder. With a nod to classic ‘spaghetti’ Westerns and a flare for Samurai film, this stylistic adventure looks to impress with a rich mix of violence, lore, and eye-popping dazzle. Watch that clip again and notice how it evolves from a simple black ink rendering to full color, highly detailed world. Breathtaking.
