Ralph Breaks the Internet is a 2018 animated adventure set six years after the events of Wreck-It Ralph, where video game friends discover a wifi router in their arcade, leading them into a new adventure.

Wreck-It Ralph is definitely one of the biggest surprises Disney has released in theatres, and it’s a lot of fun! It’s a cool concept of video game properties interacting with one another, while still giving it some heartfelt and memorable moments that might resonate with the audience. And now, we have the sequel titled Ralph Breaks the Internet, and let’s start this review by saying it’s quite impressive. It’s actually as good as the first instalment, so you’ll most likely be entertained from start to finish! Normally, sequels aren’t as good as the first movie, but the directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston are still able to make this film fun, exciting and heartwarming. You can tell they’re really passionate about these characters and the world they live in. Unlike The Emoji Movie, which is a terrible movie that just panders the audience.

Ralph Breaks the Internet takes place six years after the first film, and Ralph (John C. Reilly) has finally been enjoying his life as a bad guy in his arcade game. However, his friend Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) feels a little unfulfilled as a racer in Sugar Rush, as she now finds it repetitive and predictable. After an accident with her game that loses her steering wheel, Ralph and Vanellope decide to go to the Internet and find that missing part in order to fix Sugar Rush. And now we have ourselves a really exciting animated adventure with these two likeable characters!

First of all, what this movie does really well is that it has a lot of heart. It manages to balance both the humorous and emotional scenes, while still having some memorable moments with the two main characters. Ralph and Vanellope have an adorable friendship with each other, and it’s definitely the best aspect of the entire film. Both Reilly and Silverman do a really great job making their characters likeable, which allows the audience to connect with these guys. However, some of the supporting characters you might have loved from the first movie like Fix-It Felix Jr. and Sergeant Calhoun are barely in the sequel, because the only arcade characters they focus on are Ralph and Vanellope. Not a lot of video game cameos in this one, because it doesn’t really take place in the arcade most of the time.

However, the Internet world showcased in Ralph Breaks the Internet is quite creative, and it takes a lot of imagination to come up with a place like that! While watching the film, moviegoers can tell the filmmakers have been heavily inspired. You will have fun with all the references shown in the movie, as it has a lot of pop culture Easter eggs for you to enjoy and appreciate. However, that might be something that some people will either like or dislike, but it doesn’t change the fact that the jokes are actually funny and creative.

Ralph Breaks the Internet is a great sequel that carries on the adventure of its previous instalment, while still having a lot of heart and fun with its characters. If you’re looking for an entertaining movie to watch with your family, this is perfect for you guys! And if you’re a big Disney fan, this is going to appeal to you for sure! It’s definitely a movie for anyone who just want a great animated film.
