Watch New Release of 1928 Silent film ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’ With English Intertitles

Based on the classic Edgar Allan Poe story, The Fall of the House of Usher was first filmed in 1928, by French director Jean Epstein, though that same year, a 13-minute American adaptation was also released by director James Sibley Watson. The short story has been the source since for numerous adaptations including a slated 2021 release. However, the original is considered a classic and until now, has not been available with English intertitles.

I’d like to announce the YouTube release of the film on The Silent Film Channel. For this new release, I did some restoration on the film, got it translated, and created an award winning score for the release, including some new sound design. You can watch below or on YouTube here. Please enjoy.
