‘Making the Monster’ Featurette for Indie Horror ‘Pitchfork’ Is Fascinating Look Behind The Camera

Pitchfork is a low-budget slasher horror film about a group of friends who take a break in the country but get far more than they bargained for.

For fans of the genre or not, it’s always very cool when filmmakers give us a little peak behind the creative process. While slasher horror has always been dominated by low-budget indie movies (1978’s Halloween stands as one of the most successful independent films of all time), what many might overlook is the commitment most make in creating believable monsters and villains.

Pitchfork, currently in release, is ultra-low budget but somehow looks like something bigger. Co-written, directed and produced by Emmy award nominee Glenn Douglas Packard, a new behind-the-scene featurette about how the film’s unique monster reveals in great detail about the process of creating, applying, and presenting the beast on camera. For those curious about the process, it’s a real eye-opener, but for any movie fan, an inside look is always something to savor. Check out this cool little video and get a feel for what goes on before the cameras roll.
